Scientific Workshop
"Constantin Carathéodory's scientific work and its impact on Mathematics and Physics"

The Department of Mathematics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens is organizing a workshop dedicated to the memory of Constantin Carathéodory.

The aim of the workshop is to present the contribution of Carathéodory to different areas of Mathematics and Physics and to focus on the influence of his scientific work. Among the topics to be covered are: Calculus of Variations, Partial Differential Equations, Geometry, Function Theory, Measure Theory, Optics, Thermodynamics and Relativity.

The conference will consist of several 50 minutes special invited talks by distinguished speakers, mostly working in areas in which Carathéodory has contributed.
